Entity authority — definition & why it matters | BrandGEO Glossary Entity authority
================

How unambiguously and authoritatively AI systems can resolve your brand as a distinct entity.

Entity authority is the degree to which your brand exists as a clean, well-connected entity in the knowledge graphs and corpora AI systems draw on. A brand with high entity authority has a unique, consistently-used name; aligned data across its site, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, GitHub and directories; structured data (Organization schema) declaring who it is; and third-party references confirming it.

Low entity authority shows up as confusion: the engine mixes you up with a similarly-named company, attributes competitors' products to you, or hedges ("I'm not sure this company exists"). Fixing it is unglamorous data hygiene — but it gates every other GEO effort.
